About the Opportunity
Our client, a progressive Top 100 UK law firm with offices across the South West, Thames Valley and London, is seeking an experienced Senior Associate (6+ PQE) to join its Legal 500 Tier One-ranked Personal Injury team in Bath. The team advises on a broad range of complex matters, including fatal claims, claims for injuries caused by animals, cycling claims and claims on behalf of vulnerable people. The firm is specifically looking for a Senior Associate with specialist experience in fatal road traffic accident claims to join a supportive and well-resourced team of partners, senior associates, associates, solicitors, a Chartered Legal Executive, paralegals and legal assistants. The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued growth and development of the team while delivering an exceptional standard of client service, contributing to the business plan and taking on selected line management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- ·Deliver work effectively and efficiently on own matters, ensuring matters are profitable and resourced at the right levels
- ·Build effective relationships with own clients and referrers, exceeding client service expectations and supporting partners on larger key clients
- ·Agree services with clients on a clear basis for charging and pricing
- ·Demonstrate strong market and sector knowledge to ensure solid legal advice is given
- ·Make decisions on client matters with minimal supervision, referring to partners on highly complex or novel work
- ·Identify, select and where appropriate manage external experts or consultants
- ·Apply rules of professional conduct and monitor others to minimise risk to the department and firm
- ·Input and implement ideas into the departmental business plan and generate new business through BD activity
- ·Expand a network of clients and referrers and support partners in pursuing target clients and intermediaries
- ·Develop an internal network to increase cross-referred work and support pitch teams as required
- ·Supervise and coach others within the team, delegating work appropriately and ensuring quality output
- ·Help manage department and cross-functional projects and initiatives with clear accountability
What We're Looking For
- ·Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (essential)
- ·6+ PQE (essential)
- ·Substantial previous experience within Personal Injury, specifically Fatal RTA claims (essential)
- ·Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service (essential)
- ·Proven ability to win new business through successful BD activity (essential)
- ·Solid business plan for growth proposition within the department or sector (desirable)
- ·Ability to manage a small team (desirable)
