About the Opportunity
A progressive Top 100 law firm with offices across the South West, Thames Valley and London is looking for a Partner or Senior Associate to join its Employment team in the Southwest. The role focuses on expanding the firm's employment practice in Bristol and the surrounding region, building on a strong existing market position. Suitable for a commercial, entrepreneurial lawyer motivated by the opportunity to help build a team; an existing client following is advantageous but not essential at Senior Associate level, and expected at Salaried Partner level.
Responsibilities
- ·Deliver work on own matters efficiently, profitably and at the right resource level
- ·Build effective relationships with clients and referrers and exceed client service expectations
- ·Agree services with a clear basis for charging and pricing
- ·Provide commercial, sector-aware legal advice
- ·Input into and implement the departmental business plan, evidencing new business success from BD activity
- ·Expand a network of clients, intermediaries and referrers and support partners in pursuing target clients
- ·Develop an internal network to increase cross-referred work
- ·Supervise, coach and delegate to others in the team, ensuring quality output
- ·Understand departmental KPIs and personal contribution towards them
- ·Keep abreast of legal, sector and practice area developments and help drive parts of the strategy
What We're Looking For
- ·7+ PQE Employment lawyer
- ·Solid business plan for growth within the Bristol employment team
- ·Tribunal litigation experience desirable
- ·Strong client management skills with a focus on excellent client service
- ·Proven ability to win new business through successful BD activity
- ·Ability to manage a small team
