About the Opportunity

An award-winning, no win no fee firm established in 2000, headquartered in Manchester and ranked 64th in The Lawyer UK Top 200. The firm specialises exclusively in claimant personal injury and clinical negligence and is hiring a Costs Draftsperson to support senior case handlers within its established in-house costs department.

Responsibilities

  • ·Report to Department Head and Line Manager
  • ·Work to WIP targets and drafting completion dates set by supervisor
  • ·Draft formal bills for inter partes detailed assessment
  • ·Draft N260 statements of costs
  • ·Prepare risk assessments and Part 8 proceedings for issue
  • ·Investigate disbursement liabilities and review client ledger and accounts
  • ·Complete work checklists and prepare Precedent S and Q documents
  • ·Commence detailed assessment proceedings on approved work

What We're Looking For

  • ·2-10 years' drafting experience in claimant PI sector
  • ·Legal qualification (LLB, GDL, LPC) desirable
  • ·Drafting skills across Precedent H, R and Q and formal bills in multi-track / budgeted cases
  • ·Experience of working to target
  • ·Working knowledge of the CPR and detailed assessment process
  • ·Analytical skills and strong attention to detail
  • ·Proclaim and CostsMaster experience essential
  • ·In-house experience
