About the Opportunity
NMG Recruitment is handling a confidential appointment for an established UK law firm. Based in London, you will help deliver financing matters from initial instructions to completion, balancing detailed legal drafting with the practical needs of the parties involved. This position suits a solicitor who has developed a solid grounding in transactional banking and wants greater ownership of deal work while continuing to receive guidance. The client's identity and further information will be discussed privately with suitable candidates.
Responsibilities
- ·Prepare and negotiate facility agreements, tailored lending documents and security arrangements, including agreements based on LMA forms
- ·Take ownership of allocated parts of financing transactions and keep colleagues informed of progress and emerging issues
- ·Coordinate conditions precedent, execution arrangements and completion requirements
- ·Explain legal issues clearly and provide advice that reflects each client's commercial objectives
- ·Organise concurrent matters, manage deadlines and support appropriate delegation to junior team members
- ·Monitor time recording, matter costs and billing requirements in collaboration with supervising lawyers
- ·Help maintain client relationships and contribute to networking, pitches and knowledge sharing
- ·Follow professional conduct, client onboarding and anti-money laundering requirements, escalating risks when necessary
What We're Looking For
- ·Qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales, with approximately 2 to 3 years' PQE in a private practice banking and finance team
- ·Practical experience drafting and negotiating LMA-based finance agreements
- ·A background in lending transactions beyond the property law elements of real estate finance
- ·Confidence progressing significant aspects of a deal with appropriate supervision
- ·Sound academic credentials and a commitment to developing technical expertise
- ·Clear communication, careful drafting and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- ·A collaborative approach and an interest in building long-term client relationships
- ·International transaction experience would be helpful but is not essential
