Our client, a leading international law firm, is seeking an associate with excellent academic credentials to join its rapidly growing and innovative Global Venture Technology practice in New York. The successful candidate will join a team that is passionate about investing in success, working alongside a close-knit group of lawyers with global reach who are building a strong brand in the marketplace. The Global Venture Technology group is a unique boutique on the platform of a large, global law firm.
Responsibilities
- ·Counsel venture capital firms and emerging companies on day-to-day affairs and act as quarterback on overall legal needs
- ·Handle transactional work, including venture financings, exits and working capital arrangements
- ·Represent the interests of venture firms and other sources of capital in transactions
- ·Help build relationships with clients and the broader venture ecosystem
What We're Looking For
- ·3-5 years of legal experience required
- ·Experience with competitive firms in the tech sector is a plus
- ·Experience with West Coast deals is a plus
- ·Ambitious, entrepreneurial and passionate about innovation
- ·Excellent judgment combining business and legal acumen, with strong analytical skills
- ·Good on one's feet with the ability to work effectively under pressure
- ·Team player who exhibits confidence, keen leadership skills and initiative
- ·Should be licensed to practice law in the State of New York and be in good standing
