About the Opportunity
A leading international law firm is hiring a mid-level associate to join its nationally recognized Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. The team is trusted by clients on high-stakes, complex disputes and offers direct partner interaction, meaningful responsibility and the resources of a global platform.
Responsibilities
- ·Draft complex case evaluations, pleadings, motions and other litigation documents
- ·Handle all aspects of litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal where applicable
- ·Conduct legal research and draft analytical memoranda
- ·Manage written discovery, document review and depositions
- ·Work directly with clients, witnesses, experts and other counsel
- ·Analyze insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, including drafting coverage opinions and related analyses
What We're Looking For
- ·4-6 years of complex litigation experience required
- ·Experience with insurance coverage litigation is a strong plus; candidates with complex litigation backgrounds and a genuine interest in high-level coverage work are encouraged to apply
- ·Genuine interest in emerging risks in insurance and environmental and products liability underlying litigation required
- ·Strong writing, case management, client-facing and oral advocacy skills required
- ·Federal District Court or Appellate clerkship is a plus
- ·Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state where the candidate will be practicing
- ·Washington, DC candidates may be licensed in any US state or territory if eligible to waive into the DC Bar under DC Court of Appeals Rule 46 and agree to apply for an Exception to Admission
- ·Application must include a cover letter (detailing experience and interest in high-level insurance coverage litigation and in emerging risks in insurance and environmental and products liability litigation), resume, law school transcript and writing sample
